Day 1

So, it's not the best way to start this project but at least it's a start. This is what I'm reading right now and the picture was taken with my camera phone.

I must say that so far it's a really good book, the third in the series and about the 20th I've read by her.
And there you have it. Day 1 is done.

My 365

I started Karen's class but never started it back up after the half time break. But today starts a new year and my new project 365. My goal is to take a picture a day for the whole year. Before applying my "Shoot from the heart" lessons I'll just be trying to make sure I take a picture of *something*. Today it was the cover of the book I'm reading. Now I just have to figure out how to get the picture from my phone to here. :)

And so it begins

On Monday I started Karen Russel's photography class. I love her blog and her style and now that I've gotten to chat with her online I love her even more!

I'm hoping to use this blog space to chronicle my learning adventure. Hopefully when I look back at my early pictures I'll see a marked difference in the quality.

Our first assignment was to find an emotionally perfect picture. It didn't have to be technically perfect, just emotionally perfect for us. The whole point of photography (the way we do it) is to capture our family's life, the big stuff and the every day stuff. Because when you think about it, it's the little moments in between that we remember the most, and often have the most meaning to us.
